Ikuto Tsukiyomi (月詠イクト, Tsukiyomi Ikuto) is one of the main characters in the anime and manga series Shugo Chara!.
Appearance
Ikuto has blue hair and eyes. He is taller than Amu Hinamori and Tadase Hotori. He wears a choker with a silver cross. He is most often seen in his black school uniform, but he has been seen in other black (or indigo) outfits.
Sometimes, Ikuto wears cat ears.
Personality
Ikuto is enigmatic, aloof, stoic and a little naughty, much like an alley cat. He can also be sweet and kind. He likes teasing people, especially Amu and Tadase. Ikuto is selfless and protective, thus, he is willing to distance himself from those he cares in order to protect them and stop them from getting embroiled in his own troubles. This explains why he kept himself away from Utau after she allies with the Guardians. Another example of this is when he makes fun of Tadase so that he'd be hurt and make Amu hate him, so ultimately they [Amu and Tadase] would not meddle with his troubles with Easter (especially Amu).
Although Ikuto may seem to have a passive personality, he is quite perceptive and honest.
As for chapter 43, Amu states that Ikuto "loves music... and his dad".
History
Ikuto is a teenage boy contracted by Easter to find the Embryo. He often helps Amu Hinamori even though he works for the Easter Company. Ikuto actually despises Easter and tries to wrench himself free from them by trying to find the Embryo to grant his own wish. By chapter 43, he had left Easter Company in search of his father. In the third season of the anime, he is already traveling the world to search for his father and therefore is absent from the series.
He is in possession of the Dumpty Key. It pairs with Amu's Humpty Lock, which comes together in chapter 36/37.
Like his father, Ikuto is a skilled violinist. His mother, upon marrying someone else after they found her husband's violin in a foreign country and believing that he would not come back, bound her children into working for Easter.
Ikuto is in love with Amu Hinamori, confessing it in chapters 28 and saying it in 43 of the manga. He also kissed her on the cheek before taking off in chapter 43. He confessed to her in the anime the same time Tadase did, but Amu thought it was a joke.
In Chapter 28, Ikuto told Amu to grow up faster because he wanted Amu to catch up to him.
In the anime, after he leaves Japan to search for his father, Ikuto keeps in touch with Amu, Utau and Tadase.

Yoru
His Guardian Character is the mischievous Yoru, who is created from his desire to become free as a stray cat. Yoru is like a mini and chibi version of Ikuto.

During a character change, Ikuto gains a pair of cat ears and a tail, and is bestowed with reflexes and moves that only come from a cat. He can also form virtual cat claws from his hands, created to form the attack Phantom Claw ( ファントムクロー) , something he cannot do during Character Transformation.

Black Lynx
Black Lynx (ブラックリンクス) is Ikuto's Chara-Transformation form with Yoru, representing his desire to be as free as a stray cat and even gaining cat-like reflexes and senses. Appearance likewise to Yoru, Ikuto sports cat-like features such as the ears and tail, and wears a short navy top with long navy pants. He also wears a glove on his right hand with metal claws.
First appears in Chapter 07 of the manga and Episode 13 of the anime, where he "saves" Amu from an X Egg only to break it.
- Slash Claw (スラッシュクロー): Ikuto slashes with his claws at close-range, cutting through objects at wide range and can deliver energy waves to stun his targets.
Death Rebel
Death Rebel (デスレーベル) is Ikuto's forced Chara-Transformation due to Kazuomi Hoshina's plan to control him by infusing X-Egg energy through Aruto's Violin, and manipulate him through the trauma and darkness he holds in his heart. Per after transformation, Ikuto has no recollection of his actions during then. He first becomes Death Rebel in Chapter 31 of the manga and Episode 75 of the anime.
In this form, Ikuto grows cat ears and wears a black suit and a black tie. He also sports an armband on his left arm, similar to the armband Amu wears with her school uniform,
His violin can also turns into a deathscythe, while able to Heart Eggs and create material projections when playing it.
Character Transform
- Dark Night Storm (ダークナイト ストーム): Ikuto deadly spins the scythe, causing a tornado of dark energy towards targets in range and rendering them paralyzed.

Seven Seas Treasure
Seven Seas Treasure (セブンシーズトレジャー) is Ikuto's Ultimate Chara-Transformation form with Yoru (and the purified Black Egg in his violin[2]) acheived when Amu completely opens her heart to embrace Ikuto, causing the two of them transform together with infused power from Humpty Lock and Dumpty Key.[3] He wears a blue pirate outfit and an eyepatch, but keeps his cat ears. On the hat is a skull and crossbone symbol with a cat's head replacing the skull.
The pirate theme represents Ikuto's desire for freedom to do whatever he wants, where his form's etymology stems from the breakdown.
- Seven: that embodies himself through his closest bonds, Yoru, Amu and her Shugo Charas (Ran, Miki, Su, Dia), and his father.
- Seas: In accordance to his father believed to be lost overseas.
- Treasure: Amu is the treasure Ikuto has been searching for.
- Emerald Line (エメラルドライン): Using his pirate sword to slash apart objects with sharp energy.
Trivia
- His character song is titled Tsukiyo no Marionette.
- Peach-Pit confirmed in a Q&A in volume 11 that Ikuto also knows how to play the viola and the piano.
- In chapter 28, he told Amu he was in high school. In the Japanese school system, high school consists of only three years, as opposed to four in many Western countries. In comparison, in the Japanese school system, Elementary consists of six grades (as opposed to five in many Western countries) and Junior High school consists of only three grades, as well. Japanese high school consists of the ages of 15-16 (10th grade), 16-17 (11th grade) and 17+ (12th grade).[4]
- When telling Amu he was a high schooler (chapter 28), in response she replied "in spring I'll be a junior high schooler!". Japanese Junior high school ages consist of 12-13 in the 7th grade, which is the first year of Junior High school. The Japanese school year begins in April and ends in March, with Amu's birthday being September 24 falling in between there. That means in about five months after the school year starts, Amu will have already had her next birthday. In comparison, Ikuto's next birthday wouldn't be until December 1st.
- As it was winter in chapter 28, as well, Ikuto's current age as of that chapter (17) / birthday of December 1st would have fallen right around there. That would mean at the start of the series (and when he first met Amu) he was likely actually a bit younger, and closer to a grade before/a year or so younger.
